Chamberlain surveyed the prison that was his objective. Prison breaks, or "recruiting missions" as the men had come to call them, were probably the most liked mission by his men, as they knew they would get to see the good the mission did, both on the faces on the people they rescued and often on their family's as they got reunited back at resistance.
Chamberlain clicked on his radio "Alright then, silent as a grave." As soon as he finished several silenced weapons popped, and all of the external guards fell back, not even having time to get off a warning. His men moved forward with teamwork and precision that a pre-David special operation unit would have envied. Fighting together for longer than World war's 1 and 2 combined did that to you.
Platoon 3 took up the guards positions, so anyone looking through the darkness of the night would still see a normal guard. Platoon 2 moved in and began taking down all the interior guards, rapidly moving through the few who were awake before moving into the barracks. Platoons 1 and 4 moved in freeing the prisoners in calm yet quick manner which clearly demonstrated their experience with the operation.

Until that fateful day two weeks ago, Alex had been a free wolf; then he had had to make a choice that cost him his freedom. There had been an avalanche in the mountains, and she had been buried under the snow. Alex had known where she was through her scent and had to make a decision; to let a little girl die or save her and get caught. He couldn’t let another person’s death weigh on his mind, so he saved the girl. He had then been captured by the Brotherhood and commanded to give the location of the missing Animorphs.
<So now I'm trapped in this hellhole of a prison,> Alex thought to himself. He was locked up in some cage used for the 'animals', according to his mocking guard. "You're not worth any thing, fucking wolf," the guard had taunted. "They should throw you in a zoo somewhere." Alex had just snarled at him.
Alex sent out a silent wish for freedom: after over 20 years of eluding David, he didn't want to be trapped for the rest of his life now.

Chamberlain moved down the row of cells, freeing prisoners, quite a few who he recognized as resistance fighters. He finished and moved toward the "VIP" cells, the solitary confinement that typically held resistance brass. He opened the first one, and an old friend stepped out, but Chamberlain wasted no time in greeting him. He shooed his friend toward the door where 1st platoon was organizing the prisoners for evacuation.
The next cell contained something completely unexpected. It was a wolf, and it had had a pair of guards stationed to protect it. Of course, both guards were now dead, having both taken a bullet to the throat. "I am going to go ahead and guess you are a morpher. Well move out to the entrance and follow and commands you are given." Chamberlain said, giving Alex the same orders he gave all of the other rescued prisoners.

Alex was a little bit surprised when a man came bursting through the door and shot the guards dead. It startled him that his silent prayer had been answered so quickly, but Alex wasn't about to complain. The man said, "I am going to go ahead and guess you are a morpher. Well move out to the entrance and follow and commands you are given." Alex nodded in responce and quickly jumped out of the cage.
Alex said to the man, <I know you don't have much time to talk, but I would like to accompany you. It would be safer for you to know what you are up against in the next few rooms, and I can safely scent the people inside.> Alex wanted just as much as the man to get as many people out of the prison, and he hoped that the man would accept his offer to help.

"You were the last one" Chamberlain said to the wolf as he moved toward the entrance. He got out and all of the prisoners were waiting in groups. The wiolf followed him but Chamberlain didn't stop him.
"Alright" Chamberlain's voice was loud enough to carry it over the questioning whispers of the prisoners. "As most of you know, we are the Revenuer. You have two choices, you can come with us or you can go back into your cells." unsurprisingly all of the prisoners wanted freedom "Now we will have to make a 1 mile forced march to waiting vehicles, which will take us all the way to mountains before there is any response. Hopefully. However, you will have to march with us and stay with your group. We will be crossing the distance in less than 7 minutes, so many of you will have to push yourselves like you never have before. "
"Your group is who you will be riding home with, so go ahead and help each other. Yuo will follow your assigned soldier to you vehicle and embark. Now move. " As soon as Chamberlain stopped talking the soldiers began shepard the prisoners out. "You can follow me wolf" Chamberlain said before starting a cadence to help set the pace of the march.
Through the gates of hell As we make our way to heaven Through the Nazi lines Primo victoria
We've been training for years Now we're ready to strike As the great operation begins We're the first wave on the shore We're the first ones to fall Yet soldiers have fallen before
In the dawn they will pay With their lives as the price History's written today In this burning inferno Know that nothing remains As our forces advance on the beach
Aiming for heaven though serving in hell Victory is ours their forces will fall. [/b]

Tobias was starting to think he had been too hasty in accepting the Drode's offer. He had only just appeared in this reality and already, he wasn't enjoying it. Probably because he appeared just in front of a bunch of people marching. And he appeared with only the towel he had when he was speaking to the Drode.
He really wasn't sure what to do. Tobias still hadn't quite gotten used to dealing with strangers. So he wrapped his towel around his waist and stood facing them. "Um...hi. Nice...um...wolf."

Alex nodded to the man and followed him. He didn't have to worry about keeping up; he usually walked a lot faster than this and could probably cover more than twice the distance in the same amount of time. So for the most part Alex was just enjoying his new found freedom.
As they walked, Alex began to think; his options were quite limited at this point and he truly didn't have his heart in battling the Brotherhood anymore. The reason behind his confinement was to get away from the very thing he was being led back to. At the same time, Alex didn't see much value in going back to the pack; although the pack would be sorely missing the Alpha, Alex was sure Strongpelt, the Beta, could handle things for the time being.
All of a sudden a strange man appeared in front of him and the other man wearing only a towel around his waist. He looked a little bit startled; he then turned to the group and said, "Um...hi. Nice...um...wolf." Alex didn't blame the man for assuming he was just a regular wolf, but the wolf part of his mind (which had long ago fused with his regular) flared; his fur bristled, and he bared his teeth. <Nice towel,> Alex commented.

"S***" Someone said as the man just appeared out of nowhere. chamberlain immediatly stopped his cadence and shouted "Everyone down!" The Soldiers dropped, checking every directions as they scanned for threats. "Clear" "Clear" "Clear" Can calls back as nothing was spotted. "no holograms or clocking nearby" the LT in charge of searching for such things said "I have no clue how he did that"
"Keep Moving, we are on a schedule" Chamberlain ordered and he led his command squad over to the man, only dressed in a towel, and asked "Who are you and how the hell did you get here?"

Tobias nodded to the wolf. Even if he had been surprised that it answered, his face wouldn't have shown it unless he made an effort to do so. "You always have to know where your towel is at," he answered.
He turned to the guy who appeared to be in charge. "I'm War-Prince Tobias Santorelli, Commander of the Reliquary." Not that the Reliquary is anywhere near here... he sighed in his head. Already he was missing his beloved ship. It was his second deadliest weapon, right between his Howler morph and his girlfriend's mood swings. If only I could find a way to use those to my advantage...
"How did I get here?" He sighed. "You ever have a boss who's always calling you up to do ridiculous stuff at crazy hours? Imagine him with the ability to toss you in an alternate reality."

"What the hell are you talking about?" Chamberlain asked, then Tobias said he was commander of the reliquary and immediately fingers tightened on triggers. "hold" Chamberlain ordered.
<The Reliquary is David's personal ship> one of the andalites in the company said <It was a gift from our people for his services in the yeerk wars. We didn't realize how he would turn out.> He said, embarrassed, or as close as an andalite could seem to embarrassed in thought speak.
Chamberlain noticed that the prisoners were getting a distance away, led by the rest of the company. "Alright, lets go" he told Tobias "I have no clue who you are or how you appeased like that, but I don't have the time now. So lets go, we'll talk on the ride" one of the benefits of rank was that Chamberlain got his own vehicle unless the extra space was needed, so he was semi-comfortable on long rides. Now he was going to use the extra space to accommodate his guest so he could figure out what was going on.

David's got my ship Tobias wondered. He started wondering where his other loved ones were. Rachel, Ax, Al...Was Santorelli still alive somewhere? And probably the biggest question: what about him? The Tobias who belonged in this world; where was he? And the Yeerks? Somehow, he doubted that, even with the apparent defeat of the Yeerk Empire, Guraff was out of the picture.
"Okay, so tell me a few things," Tobias said to the guy he was riding with. "How did David end up in charge? I need to know everything that happened since...since the Yeerks arrived." If David was in charge, maybe there never were any Animorphs. But he needed to know. What happened to them? What happened to him?

"What do you mean how did David get in power? The war finished, all the world leaders were lining up for some stage time with the hero's of the war. Unfortunately, David used that to his advantage. He took out every major world leader as well as the whole band of animorphs at once with a nuclear weapon. At least he thought that, see morphers are hard to kill, and at least 3 of them managed to survive the blast, as well as several who were not there. Course that was after the andalites gave David the ship you claim to be from."
"Then David turned on the world, using morpher's he created and mercenaries. He also managed to draw a large crowd through his rhetoric, and they managed to quickly sweep across the world, killing all who opposed them." Chamberlain's voices went soft "that is when they killed my wife."
"Anyways there was a group of marines who had been fighting the yeerks from before they went into the open. They were the first group to organize against David, and I went to them after I found out about my wife's death, that as right before the Two-day battle. The two day battle was the first time that David's forces ran into serious resistance. We held them for two days, despite the fact we were outnumbered something like 40:1, allowing several thousands of refugees to flee into the mountains, where we followed, thus was born our resistance.
We got thousands of refugees in the days after that, mostly from fleeing military units but also a lot of civilians. I don't know how we lasted the first year or so. Not only did we have supply problems but David's forces, now bearing the name "The Brotherhood", made two attempts to dislodge us form the mountains, but both times we managed to push them back. I don't know how, and there is no way we could have done it without Cole. It was like he was a chess master playing against a novice, he knew what the enemy was going to do before they did."
"They still launch occasional attacks, but we are far better fortified now than we were back then. Now we are strong enough to launch raids now from the mountains now both to gain military supplies and to hurt David." Chamberlain said "Hence why we are here, now will you please tell me how the hell you got here?"
Chamberlain didn't think that this crazy guy would actually tell him anything, but he did have a control and ...sharpness..that told Chamberlain that this was a fellow soldier, so chamberlain was going to at least listen to him.

"David's smart, but he's no general. Unfortunately, he's something much, much more dangerous; at least if he's anything like the David I know." Tobias shook his head. He knew David as an enemy. And he knew him as a friend. He was one of the people Tobias trusted most when he needed a plan. David, more than anyone else, understood that in a time of war, you had to be as ruthless as the enemy.
"I'm here...to stop David, I guess. The guy who sent me never made it clear. In my world, the Yeerks came. Some of my friends and I found a dying Andalite in an abandoned construction site. He gave us the power to morph, and told us to fight the Yeerks so we did. We lost track of that box. Until the day it was found by a kid named David.
We made him one of us, but he betrayed us. So we trapped him in the body of a rat. We fought the Yeerks for three years and eventually, we beat them, the six of us. But that wasn't the end of it. Not even close. Some of them escaped, cut a deal with a powerful being called The One, and came back a few years later.
"David came back, too. He got back his morphing powers and was sent to fight us. But he turned against the Yeerks and came back to our side. He's a good friend of mine now; a man I trust with my life. He's my Guo Jia; or at least Sima Yi. If it wasn't for him, Earth, my Earth at least, would probably already be in Yeerk hands."
Tobias sighed. This would probably be the hardest part to accept. "You want to know how I got here? I mentioned that the Yeerks serve The One. Well, he's got an enemy named Crayak; who has a lackey called the Drode. The Drode came to me and told me that your world needed my help. So...well, I came. I can stop him. But fighting him may not be the answer. I'm willing to bet that you never thought to try the thing we never thought to try. You're a soldier, clearly; a warrior. A general. But like I said: there are far more dangerous things a man can be."
He tried not to think about what he had been told; that most of his friends were probably dead. He couldn't even begin to think about losing Rachel a second time. A different Rachel, maybe, but it was still unbearable. Tobias prayed very rarely; he believed very rarely. But when he had a moment alone, he would pray that she, at least, was still alive. If she was, he knew where he'd find her. He had to stay with this resistance, at least for now.

Chamberlain would have found it hard to believe, except it sounded extremely familiar. Chamberlain had known Tobias, had talked to the hawk who had moved to the mountains to live out the rest of his life after David's betrayal. He had actually talked to the secretive hawk and, being the history buff he was, had wanted to get every detail he could. He had heard of both Cryak and Drode, though not of The One.
"I am a soldier, and officer, but no general Tobias" chamberlain said, letting slip his the informal address he used to use with this dimensions Tobias "That would be general Cole, and he is also the one you should see about any policy decisions. However, I don't see any non-violent ways to end this. David has killed thousands, possibly millions of people, he doesn't follow any sort of code with prisoners, and is willing to torture them on the suspicion that they might have information, and has even started shielding his soldiers basically by using civilians as a shield, placing AA guns on hospitals and having troops stay in schools."
"So like I said, policy decisions are not mine, but I highly doubt we will be able to finish this without violence. Maybe your David turned to good, but this one won't. His mind has been mostly destroyed by drugs he uses and is paranoid enough that he routinely kills those close to him because "they looked at him funny", or other such silly excuse.

At first, this David did not sound all that bad. Ruthless, yes, and completely heartless; but those were some qualities he and Tobias shared. Morally reprehensible, yes; but war and morals cannot coexist, and it was much more important to Tobias that a war be won than that his morals be maintained. He was about to say that David's actions made sense, even that he approved of them. Then he heard about drugs and killing.
"My David isn't on drugs," Tobias admitted. "He's a good kid, more or less. You said General Cole is in charge? I need to meet with him. And I need to see David for myself. But first, I need to find someone." As an afterthought, he added, "And maybe I need to find some clothes, too. On second thought, she'd probably prefer I show up like this."
