Ty saw his challenger approaching. "You may wanna take notes," Ty said to Rook. Then Tobias started talking. "Devil Prince? What're you talking about?" Ty asked as he prepared for a fight. "I am not who you think I am, but I have spent the past twenty years fighting by the God General's side. So, whoever you are, this should be interesting nonetheless..." With that, Ty swung his sword at the Howler.

<Not Guraff? Then this should be quick.> He wasn't an arrogant person, but no matter how much training this guy had gotten, it wasn't anywhere near what Tobias had. Aside from having Guraff try to kill him on a regular basis for the last few months, he had an advantage no one else ever could. The Howlers had a collective memory. Every single fight that any Howler had ever won was in that memory. And those memories came from the morph.
Aside from that there were the rest of the Howler's powers. Fast as an Andalite, strong as a Hork-bajir. A Howler's upper body could rotate 360 degrees, allowing it to keep in the fight at all times. He probably would not use the greatest weapon, the one that gave the creature its name, but he would not need it.
Tobias leapt at him. There were about ten feet between them; that meant little to a Howler. He twisted in the air, his torso spinning. He came down on the impostor like a tornado of blades.

Ty had never faced a howler before, but Guraff taught him well. Plus, unlike Guraff, Ty was INSANE. He took some of the attack, then struck with an elbow blade. <Heh, I spent 20 years with him. I think I know enough. We'll soon see, now won't we?>He then swung the sword full force at him.

Tobias had no problem taking the elbowblade. Howlers regenerated from wounds almost instantly. In this morph, he had been shot with a Dracon beam on full power, stabbed, caught in an explosion, had Oda cannons wear his flesh down to the bone, and all sorts of other things. An elbowblade didn't even register.
The sword was a different story. Tobias had been there when Guraff had gotten it; in his reality, anyhow. Made from the stinger of a Kelbrid, covered in their poison; one of the few things that could overpower a Howler's regenerative abilities. If that hit him, it would hurt.
Tobias dodged under the sword and shoved forward, a claw aimed for each of the morph's hearts.

Ty saw the Howler didn't seem to feel the elbowblade. He saw the Howler rushing at him, and swifly launched a powerful kick that only Seer's body could deliver. Granted, Ty had acquired him when he was old, and not as fast and strong as he once was. But, his morph was still a force to be reckoned with. "Interesting morph you have there. It's a shame we're on different sides," Ty mused as he swung the sword again.

The kick knocked Tobias back; farther than Ty intended. The sword just grazed him. It was a wound, but not a deep one. <It seems to be a curse of mine,> he answered. He was a little jealous of this...whoever he was. Tobias only rarely got to spend time with Guraff as a friend. This guy had twenty years. <I only got to fight by Guraff's side a few times.>
He rolled to his feet almost instantly. <But I learned a hell of a lot more fighting against him.> He jumped at his enemy again, landing inside his guard. He swung an uppercut at the guy's throat, ready to tear it open with his claws. <You got a name?>

"How do you think I met Guraff? We fought countless times, but that story will have to wait," Ty said as he sidestepped, then turned and slapped the Howler across the face with his tail. "Name's Ty, by the way...Ty Smith."

Tobias heard a SNAP when the tail hit him. And for a moment, he felt nothing at all. He completely lost control of his body, couldn't feel any of it. That happens with a broken neck. Then the Howler repaired itself. <Tobias Santorelli. Commander-Prince Tobias.> Normally, he would have paused to wonder what the Ty Smith in his reality was doing... But that was irrelevant now. All that mattered was the fight.
Tobias darted in again. This time, he delivered a backhanded slap across Ty's face.

Ty took the backslap, full force, and it staggered him. Ty shook it off, ready for more, then something hit him. "Tobias, you said? You weren't an Animorph were you?" Ty asked confused. "Never mind..." Ty said as he rushed the howler, swinging the sword artistically and with full force.

<I'm still an Animorph,> Tobias answered. <We've still got a slight Yeerk problem. I'm taking care of it, though... If I could just manage to kill our friend the God General, everything would be fine and dandy. Except for the whole unplanned pregnancy, pissed off Electorate, dying mother, stuff,> he added, not realizing he said that last part so Ty could hear it.
He deflected the sword with a claw and stuck at Ty's wrist. <Where's the real Guraff anyway?>

"Whoa, hold on a minute, Tobias, you're confusing the All-Holy crap out of me," Ty said as he jumped back to dodge the blow. "From what I hear, the Animorphs disbanded several years ago. And what do you mean, kill the God General, and all that other stuff?" Ty lowered his sword, as a sign of (temporary) peace. "Guraff 427 is dead. Died in battle not long ago on Planet Nyoork. I acquired him in his final moments, as was our agreement in the case of his death. I buried him on Nyoork, just as he was, with a Nyoork impaled through each elbow blade," Ty smiled in rememberance and honor of Guraff after he had finished.

Tobias lowered his claws as well. <Long story short, I'm not supposed to be in this world. I'm from another...reality, I guess you could call it. Things there are...very different. From what I'm told, David rules this place. Not my world. In my world, he's...a friend of mine. My left hand. The Yeerks are still trying to take over Earth. We still fight them, we Animorphs. Guraff and I have a sort of rivalry going. One day, one of us will kill the other, and that will probably be the end of the war.>
He paused. <Guraff's dead... That's... It seems impossible.> He knew it was true though. <That explains the vision I had...> He realized that Ty must have been the human in that vision. <Guraff was dying. He looked at me like he didn't know who I was; and then like he did. He just said one thing to me... 'I always wanted to fight you.' And then it ended. I...> He wasn't sure what to say except, <I'm sorry. He was a good man, Guraff. One of the greatest this or any world has ever known.>
He looked at the ground for a few moments. Then, slowly, he looked back up at Ty and raised his claws. <But Guraff wouldn't want us to just call it quits. Your move, Ty.>

"Sounds like a good story to me. Maybe one day we can trade stories..." Then, he smiled his insane grin. "That he wouldn't," Ty said, cackling. Then, he rushed Tobias again, faking a slash with the sword, and stabbing Tobias in teh face with his elbowblade, before attempting a followthrough with the sword. "You're the best opponent I've faced, second to Guraff, of course," Ty commented.

Tobias felt the elbowblade cut deep into his face. The Howler was in real pain for the first time in a while. But even that wound healed up very fast. Not fast enough to keep Tobias from getting cut with the sword, but he managed to make sure the wound wasn't deep.
<Back at you,> Tobias commented. <Well, you might be number three. I don't know what happens if you piss of Rachel in this reality but trust me: you don't do it where I come from.> His eyes fell on the sword. There was something special about it, and not just because it could hurt him. <You want to keep Guraff's sword? I'm going to make sure you earn it.>
He pressed forward, his claws darting like lightning. Maybe the real Guraff could have deflected all of them, but he doubted Ty could. His morph was slower than the Guraff Tobias knew; older, perhaps. Even the greatest of warriors fell prey to Time.

Ty laughed. "I remember the first time I pissed off Rachel...that there's a story." Ty deflected as many of the blows as possible, while telling his story. "Our first meeting in the woods, I was 19, and in Kodiak bear morph, she was probably 14 and Grizzly bear. I made the mistake of calling her "little girl." She snapped my leg, and bit my freakin' ear off...to this day, I have no idea what happened to that ear," he joked as he struck with the sword again.
