Today was Uncle David's favorite day of the year. The most ironic one, at least. Once a year, he would appear at the local school and give the kids a speech about getting ahead in life. It always made him giggle to think about it. If he was honest with the kids, his advice would be something to the effect of "Drop out of school, snort cocaine for twenty years, and kill a bunch of people." That was, after all, how he got where he was. But a bunch of 14 year old cocaine addicted dropouts wouldn't be a productive thing to have around, so for now, Uncle David decided to lie to them. It was the natural way of doing things.
Needless to say, his security detail was out in full force, making sure no unauthorized people would be in the auditorium. Just in case, the podium would contain a force field generator, in the even that someone got a weapon into the room and tried to take a shot at Uncle David. Sometimes, David's own paranoia amused him in an offhand way.
"The auditorium is ready for you, Uncle," one of his bodyguards informed him.
Uncle David nodded. Time to go lie to children. He did enjoy this day.
