((Yah, as it says. If you guys want to join this, feel free.))
She had finally found a bird morph; the Cooper's hawk. It felt nice to drift on the thermals for about an hour and a half, and then return to the forests, demorphing, growing to her full Hork-Bajir size and strength. Once finished, the Hork-Bajir nothlit found a tree, and climbed it. "She" hugged the tree, digging her leg-blades into the side. Then, she began peeling the bark from the tree with her wrist- and arm-blades. The delicious bark came off easily, and she put it into her mouth, munching it silently, sighing through her nostrils and savoring the wonderful taste.
All around her, the beauty of Earth. An Earth that needed someone like her...or so the Ellimist had told her. For once, Jamie was at peace, however; she wasn't the whirling-bladed morphing monster she had usually been. She was a peaceful tree bark eater, and at the time, acted as though she were just that. A normal Hork-Bajir. Were they her people? Both humans and Hork-Bajir were here people, she believed.
And she would continue to believe that.

Jae walked silently through the forest, exploring a bit while Tyrel rested. She wasn't far enough from the scoop that she wouldn't be able to call him for help, but she was out of sight. She looked around, then gasped as she saw a Hork Bajir sitting in a tree. She backed up, running into a tree as she tried to think of a morph she could use to fight it. Finally, she just started calling. <DADDY! DADDY!> Her thought voice was broadcast loudly, startling several animals out of hiding and sending birds into flight. She was terrified.

Jamie could hear the little Andalite girl's terror. She was so adorable, and Jamie didn't want to terrify her. She put up the facade of the simple tree-dweller. She turned her head, keeping her blades in the tree. "Jamee no hurt," she said. "Jamee friend?"

She whined and covered her head, shaking as her tail blade whipped a bit with no rhyme or reason. She was inexperienced in fighting and it showed. She looked up, still shaking as Jamee said she wouldn't hurt her. She whined a little. <Yeerk... don't hurt me... please... Don't kill me like mommy and daddy...> Tears rolled down her cheeks as she spoke, memories flashed through her mind of watching her mother and father get torn to shreds by Yeerk soldiers.

She was crying. It made Jamie so sad. But she could prove that she wasn't a Yeerk. Not realising that it might traumatise the little girl to see her cutting herself, Jamie pulled her right arm out of the tree. "Jamee not Yeerk," she said. "Jamee free!" Without further ado, she did as Jara once had, and cut open her head, pulling the skin apart to reveal her brain, with no Yeerk inside. She closed it back together, and the wound began to heal.
Oh shit, she thought. I hope that didn't make her sick...at least she won't think I'm a Yeerk...

She looked up and stared a bit as she opened her skull and slowly put her hands down, looking up at her. <N-not a Yeerk? H-how? I thought Hork Bajir were all Yeerks...> She wiped her tears away and slowly stood, walking a little closer. She was sure now that the Hork Bajir wasn't a Yeerk. She'd seen it for herself. But she just couldn't get that image out of her head. Of her parents taking their last breaths fighting just to save her.

Jamie didn't know how a Hork-Bajir would explain it. "Okay...you've got me. I've got a lot of explaining to do, I guess..." she said. "I hate Yeerks. You have no reason to fear me." She began to climb down. "My name is Jamee Semlan. I'm not really a Hork-Bajir, but a human that had the morphing power, and got stuck in a Hork-Bajir morph. I was given my morphing power back by the Ellimist, but I'm still a Hork-Bajir. Not all Hork-Bajir are slaves, though. Some have been freed...but sadly, too few..."

She stared as the Hork Bajir started talking normally and blinked as she said she'd been human. She slowly stood up and watched as a bit of sadness seemed to come over Jamee. <You... you look sad...> She slowly walked over, looking up at the big alien. <Why are you sad?> She reached up and took Jamee's hand, wanting to comfort her.

Jamie lowered herself to her knees, and gently held the Andalite child's hand. "Many, many things," she replied. "I don't know what I am exactly, I don't know what I'm supposed to do, or what has become of Earth. I'm sort of...in between everything." She then asked, "I don't believe you've given me your name." Her voice was revealing that she was starting to feel at least a little better, now that she had someone to talk to.

She looked up and watched as Jamee knelt. Her eyes smiled gently as she sounded like she was feeling better. She lowered her head a little as Jamee said she wasn't sure what she was supposed to do, how she felt in between everything. Jae felt she could relate. She didn't know what was happening here or what her place was. She looked up as Jamee asked her name and she smiled a little, though there was a bit of sadness in her expression. <My name is Jaealimi Vegath Iroth. I... I came here recently too. My... my mommy and daddy were killed by Yeerks. They both died keeping me alive.> She lowered her head and her eyes closed. <A nice male found me. He's my daddy now, but... I miss them.> A tear rolled down her cheek and she rubbed her eye a little.

"I see," Jamie said in as soft a voice a Hork-Bajir could muster. "I am sorry, but I'm glad you have someone to take care of you." Aw, poor little Andalite girl...Jamie would have hugged her...but, blades, gotta watch out for the blades. She considered morphing human so she could show more empathy towards the Andalite through her expressions...but decided against it. She didn't care for her human-morph.
Instead, she stood up, and stepped back from the Andalite. She closed her eyes, and focused on the DNA within her body. The changes began, a middle-aged Andalite emerging from her Hork-Bajir form. Finally, she stood on four legs, a powerful, navy-blue Andalite.
<This was an Andalite, Captain-Prince Gashedion, that I acquired; a friend of mine.> She looked down at Jae through four eyes. She wondered what the girl would think.

She looked up and watched as Jamee morphed into a large, normally imposing Andalite. Now, she moved forward and wrapped her arms around him, needing to be held as she cried. <Why did they do that to my parents? Why couldn't they come with me?> She trembled as she leaned into Jamee as she closed her eyes. She didn't want to be here, no matter how happy it was with Tyrel. She just wanted her real parents back now. She wanted to hear her mother's laughter and be held in her father's warm embrace. <They were going to try for another baby... I was gonna have a brother or sister...>

Jamie placed her arms around the Andalite girl, in a tender way that only those thin, weak but nimble Andalite arms and hands could. <The Yeerks are evil,> she replied. <Pure evil. That is why.> She let Jae hold onto her, let her lean her head against her soft torso. She didn't know what else to say, and was starting to feel sad again, herself. Her stalk-eyes drooped.

She sniffed and looked up at her. <W-we're safe here right? They can't hurt us?> Her voice was quiet, terrified, yet hopeful. She wanted so badly to be safe from the Yeerks. She wanted to know that this was her new home, where she would never be hurt again. She just wanted to be happy. Tyrel was her father now and she wanted some sort of proof that she could be happy.

<We are safe here, as long as we do not interfere with what is going currently on Earth,> Jamie replied. <There are no Yeerks here.> That wasn't completely true. <Let me take that back. There are a few Yeerks, but they probably won't hurt us. Human's the dominant race here, and they wouldn't dare hurt you, or your godfather.>
