Lee sighed deeply. What was wrong with that girl? She didn't even seem to notice her Mom was on the verge of a breakdown. He was outside and could tell. He shook his head.
Then, Serena walked outside. "Okay, just relax. Everything's fine.Mom approved of the outfit."
"Approved my ass," Lee snorted from the shadows behind her. "Yeah, she approved of it. That's why you fucking made her cry..." He glared. Normally, he and Rena got along great, but this was one of those other times. "But, it's up to you, I guess. You wanna get raped, go on out there like that." He brushed his hair out of his face and walked away. "And so you know, if it DOES happen. There's nothing I can do since you brought it on yourself."

Serena strained to hear her mom inside for a moment, but no sound was made from the window now--probably because Cass started crying silently--and Serena rushed after her brother. "Now wait a minute! She said I could go in whatever I want!"
She stepped in front of Leroy, and put her hands on her hips. "I'm not getting raped, but thanks for your wonderful support, bro..."

Lee snapped, glaring. "Yeah, after you made her cry..." He sighed; he was about to let her have it, but she needed to hear this. "You want support, sis? Fine," he patted her on the back. "Great, job, sis! You gave our mother an emotional breakdown, and you're too stupid to notice it. Congratulations, you're a bitch." He then turned and stormed off for home.

Serena stared at him as he spoke and then stormed off. She kept staring at the direction he walked away towards. She was in disbelief. She would have slapped him but he was already gone.
Serena decided that this was not over and she walked to his house and went inside without knocking. Finding him, she started pitching a fit. "That was NOT fair back there! Mom wasn't crying, okay? If she was, it was probably because she was thinking of Dad. You and I both know she does that from time to time, even if it's been 20 years. So don't pin that on me....and and and....GAH! You're too difficult sometimes!" She tried her best not to cry because of the fact that he called her a bitch and right now she was doing well. If she was calmed down enough, maybe she'd see what he was talking about and actually understand.

Lee had made it home and was playing pool in his basement in an attempt to calm down; then she came in. He kept playing as he spoke. "No. It was perfectly fair. You just need to pull your head outta your ass. She was crying because you implied that she was a slut. She was crying because her daughter has zero respect for her. I'm a guy, and I noticed that."
He looked at her. "I'm difficult? You're the one who started this shit. Now leave me alone."

Serena crossed her arms as he spoke and rolled her eyes, not believing what she was hearing--either that, or refusing to take the blame for her mother's emotional breakdown--and clucked. "No, I'm not going to leave you alone til we figure this out."
"I have respect for Mom! But I'm nineteen years of age. She needs to start respecting me, too. Not just one way. And I wasn't implying that she was a slut..."

"There's nothing to figure out," he said coldly. "You need to realize you screwed up. I heard what you said; you may not realize it, but you did." He continued playing. "Serena, something you need to learn. She's your mother, and you owe her respect. You know she only does what she does because she loves you. Love is given. Respect is earned. And she's more than earned yours by raising you and me. By herself. What have you done for her besides give her a hard time? Now, leave me be."

Serena crossed her arms. "She'll get over it." She sighed, feeling like she was going nowhere. Then she turned. "I'll be right back." With that, she headed back home.
When she got there, she changed into pants and a regular t-shirt and headed back to Leroy's house. If this doesn't make him happy, I don't know what the hell will...
Yeah, she had a really thick skull....She walked in and went right back to the basement. "There. I changed. Are you happy now?"

"Serena....just....get out." He sighed, a tear rolling down his face. He NEVER cried.
He glared when she came back in. "No. You should have done that before this crap started. What would make me happy right now would be if you just left. Go fix things with Mom, maybe grow up. THEN we'll talk."

Serena had felt a little pain when she saw her brother cry. She debated on not staying, but felt she needed to work this out somehow with her brother first. "I am grown up...and I can never talk to Mom about serious stuff. YOU can."
She sat on top of the pool table to get him to quit playing while she spoke. "I wanna fix things with you first..."

He threw the pool cue on the floor and turned to walk away. "No you're not. Well, you're not acting like it. You put Mom and me through all this crap and yet you're not at fault. You want to fix things with me? Fix things with her."
He walked into his bedroom, slamming and locking the door before putting his fist through the wall, ripping open his hand in the process. He sighed and wrapped the wound with a tube sock.

Serena watched as he left, and immediately started feeling tears form in her eyes. She turned and walked outside, not wanting to be at that party after all. She curled into a ball on his porch and cried the tears she'd been holding back.
Rena didn't know how long she was out there, but when she finished crying, she was thinking to herself. She never talked to Mom about serious stuff; it was always Leroy she went to. Leroy couldn't ground her, for one. And maybe Serena had always been a little judgemental about what happened to her mother.
She thought about what Leroy said and she looked down at her feet. She needed him now more than ever, but he had kinda turned his back on her. "...I don't know how to talk to Mom...and I want her to be in a better mood than she is when I talk to her....I need guidance...or something..." she said to no one.

Lee walked outside to see Rena still there, crying, and...talking. His hand was wrapped with the now-bloodsoaked sock. "I'm sorry," he murmured. I didn't mean to lose my temper like that. Forgive me?"

Serena's head jerked towards him when he spoke. Tears were in her eyes again when she saw him. She stood up and ran to him, hugging him and crying in his chest. "No. I'm sorry...for...for being such a Bitch..."
It took a few seconds until she saw his hand. "Oh, My God, are you okay?"

He wrapped his arms around her. "But I was too hard on you," he protested. "I'm sorry."
"Yeah, I'm fine," he said, moving the hurt hand behind his back.
