Tyrel stood at the entrance to an unfinished tunnel in the base; when this tunnel was finished, the base would stretch across the city, leaving numerous entry points.
Normally, he didn't bother himself with such things, but there was nothing else to do. Raylor was out, and there weren't any big plans for a little while. <How's it coming?> He asked privately to a nearby worker.

Norpo turned towards Tyrelinn, grinning and giving a salute. "Greetings and salutations to you too," he said. "It's going all right. We're just starting to dig out that wall." He indicated a nearby dirt area.
Suddenly some dirt fell away. A young woman was revealed. She had striking red hair and her dark eyes were half-closed and looked blank. Norpo frowned. "This is new..." he muttered to himself. He had never seen Nichole transformed.

Tyrelinn wasn't too startled by the girl. After all, compared to what he'd seen and done over the years, this was nothing. <Sure as hell it's new. Maybe we accidentally dug into one of those makeshift cemeteries,> he concluded. <Give any bodies to me and I'll have them relocated and put in decent graves. However....this one seems pretty new. It isn't decayed or anything....Well preserved, I guess.>

Norpo walked over and examined the "grave". "I...I don't think this is a graveyard," he said, looking up at Tyrelinn. "I think this is a suspended animation chamber from a few years ago." He didn't add that it looked like he had modified it. He had seen only a few people go into them. And only one of them never came out. But...whomever this was, this wasn't his old host's cousin.

<So, she's alive. Interesting.> He didn't bother asking how it got there; it didn't much matter. This discovery was just amazing. <Think we can bring her out of the suspended animation? Not sure what we'd do with her, but it is quite the discovery.>
He smiled. <Well, it would make a nice statue for the main hall.> He chuckled at his own joke.

"I'm sure we can." He started looking over the controls. "In here? Or should we move her?"
He sort of smirked at Tyrelinn's joke, but didn't quite get the humor. He just didn't like the thought of anyone like this...it reminded him of taking an involuntary host. He sort of shuddered, but put the thought away.

<Bring her by me. There's no traffic over here,> he commanded, his stalk eye scanning the girl up and down. <Now, let's see how you handle this thing. Though, science is right up your alley, right? I can't remember the last time I did something like this. It seems like an eternity...>

Norpo nodded and pushed the containment unit towards him. "Technology, more than science," he corrected. "I can't tell you a lick about what oxygen and syanide would do together, but I can sure build one of these things in my sleep."
He moved to the front and began to work, opening the hatch. The woman fell out, and Norpo moved to catch her. Her eyes fluttered open and she jerked back, snarling. She looked around wildly. "What's going on here," she snapped. She had already fallen into a defensive stance. "Who are you?"

Tyrelinn glared at Norpo. <I know the difference,> he snapped. <When you combine two broken Andalite fighters into a functional one using Earth tools and car parts, give me a call,> he grumbled. Yeerks....
He looked with fascination as the girl awoke, his look was the equivalent of that of a small child at the zoo for the first time. He backed up, tail arched. <Oh look, she's not much of a morning person, is she? Tyrelinn-Malenor-Gorith, Andalite warrior and...Earth General. Want some coffee?>

He grinned back. "Yeah, and when you build a working android that can be attached to a Yeerk out of a fish bowl and stuff you find at Circuit City, then you give me a call."
Michelle--for that was the name that sprang into her head--looked at him steadily. "Coffee?" she practically growled. As if this were the time for coffee. How ridiculous. It was time for action.

<When you can say you've actually been involved in a fight, then give me a call,> he growled, then turned to the girl. <Yes. Coffee. Since you seem so temperamental after waking up.>

Her eyes narrowed. Whatever was going on, she needed answers. And she didn't trust these two. Not for a minute. "I don't need coffee," she said calmly. "I want your unconditional surrender." She figured this didn't sound too odd.

Tyrel stepped back and took a fighting stance. <Surrender? Surrender what? If you mean surrender your head from its place on your neck, then yes.>
For effect, he struck with his tail faster than Andalites half his age could only dream of achieving, stopping it right at her throat. <See?>

She tried not to flinch. He was faster than she expected. Still, she was fast herself. She moved her hand and wrapped her fingers around his tail. It was...useless. But it made her feel better, at least. Because she would know when it would move.

He pulled his tail back. <Here's the deal. We just freed you from suspended animation. We need to know who you are.>
