Ek sat on the ground, looking around. His mind wandered, as his simple mind usually did. He looked so menacing, yet he had such a peaceful side. A butterfly landed on his hand, and he acquired it. He didn't even notice he wasn't alone. He loved being on Earth.

Tinem walked silently over the lawn, looking around as he did. He looked down and paused as he saw a strange creature sitting on the grass. It looked part Hork Bajir at least. He took a few steps towards him, lifting his white board and hoping he could read. He wrote something down and approached Ek. It said a greeting and asked if he could read it. He waited to see his reaction. He guessed this creature wouldn't be very intelligent.

((I’m sure Ty won’t mind Jamie joining; after all, we’ve both wanted Ek to meet her. :3 And if this is an RP for getting a character into the Revenant...that's what I want Jamie to join.))
When a Hork-Bajir wanted to hide, it needed a tree. She’d been in the trees for about thirty minutes, munching some bark every so often, when she’d noticed the creature. It looked as though someone had merged Bowser – Jamie felt a pang as she remembered a video game character, memories of her past humanity flooding into her mind – and a Hork-Bajir. It looked dangerous, but oddly peaceful. This made Jamie look upon herself. Inside, she had many monstrosities; she could become many-armed things, acid-spraying things, tentacled things, and more. In her mind, she still was a human, an intelligent one. In body, she was a peaceful tree bark-eater.
There was another hybrid in the area. Jamie tilted her head, peering at this creature with red Hork-Bajir eyes. It looked like a demonic Andalite, to tell the truth. Jamie wasn’t quite fond of its appearance, but then again, you can’t judge a book by its cover; she had learned that on the Hork-Bajir homeworld. Swiftly, she slipped out of the tree; the girl-turned-male Hork-Bajir made her way, slowly, towards the group, her blades pointed away from both to show she meant no harm, knowing the “Andalite’s” stalk-eyes would see her.
A ways from them, she did as she’d done for Jae; she took a wrist blade, and grimacing, opened up her head, revealing the Yeerk-free brain.

((Of course I don't mind! )) Ek just stared at the whiteboard, unable to read. "What this?" he asked, confused. He looked at the creature holding it. He started to say something else, when he saw a Hork-Bajir not far away from them cut his head open. Ek wasn't bothered by the gruesomeness of the situation, being part Br'Kragnon, who did much more gruesome things to others. He just didn't know what to do or how to react, so he just stared from Tinem to Jamee. All he'd wanted to do was relax in the grass, maybe play with the little animals. And he was feeling a little angry at the two newcomers for interfering.

He sighed a little at the creature's reaction, then turned as he saw a Hork-Bajir coming up behind him. He watched as she cut her head open and showed him her brain. He nodded a little in response. He understood she wasn't a yeerk. She seemed to be more intelligent than most Hork-Bajir, so he erased all but the greeting on his white board and showed it to her. He wondered just what the creature next to him was. He also hoped the Hork Bajir understood at least one kind of sign language, otherwise this would be a long conversation.

((Male body, lol...three horns.))
At least they didn’t seem hostile towards them; the Hork-Bajir hybrid was confused, and Andalite thing nodded. Jamie pressed the ruptured skin and flesh together, and it healed quickly, as the Hork-Bajir looked up, a glimmer of intelligence in her eyes. They were...such an odd group. Jamie could consider herself a hybrid as well, for obvious reasons. “He looks as though he’s trying to speak with you,” Jamie said, in the harsh, guttural Hork-Bajir voice.

Ek continued looking from one to the other until the Hork-Bajir spoke. He nodded. To both of them, he said, "Name Ek-Gwharroff. Mother Hork-Bajir. Father-Br'Kragnon. Ek taken from family. To Earth. Treated bad. Join resistance. You friends?"
To Tinem, he said. "You no speak?"

He looked to Ek as he spoke, told them his name and explained his origins. He nodded at the first question, then shook his head at the second. He looked to Jamee, making simple gestures that asked her to read and tell Ek what he was saying. I can't speak. Voice is bad. I am Tinem. He kept it simple for the creature, so he would understand why he was doing this. He figured if he explained the real reason, Ek would just stare at them in confusion.

Br’Kragnon...Jamie had only heard the name of this race. She mentally filed this away in her mind, as a word triggered a reaction in her. Resistance. She had heard that Earth was being ruled with a fist of iron by David and his Brotherhood; she believed the Resistance was her path to helping save Earth from them. She felt sorry for poor Ek, though; taken from his family, and mistreated...
“I intend to join the Resistance as well,” she replied, to him. “And I will gladly be your friend, Ek.” Then, the Andalite-esque creature got her attention, and began to make simple hand-signs, which she, luckily, was able to understand. The Arn computers contained a lot of useful information, including the universal sign-languages.
“He can’t speak,” she translated. “Voice is bad.” She was slightly confused by that, but only because it was vague. “His name is Tinem. And you may call me Jamie.” She turned back to Tinem. <How is your voice bad?> she asked, in private thought-speech.

Ek's tail peacefully swayed back and forth as both Tinem and Jamee answered his questions. "Tinem, Jamee friends." Ek said softly. "Bad voice?" He said questioningly. Bad voice no good..." he said, picking up a nearby stick and promptly eating it.

He watched Ek's reaction and his eyes smiled a little. He liked the innocent creatures of the universe. They showed that life wasn't really worth worrying over in times like this. He looked over at Jamee as she asked why her voice was bad. He looked down and wrote why, showing it to her. My voice causes extreme terror when people hear it. As much as I hate it, it's useful as a test for Yeerks. They don't seem to actually feel it. He looked down at Ek, then over at Jamee. What are you exactly? Hork Bajir can't use thought speak. He reached up with his tail and cut a dead branch off a tree behind him. He scooped it up with his blade and slowly brought it over to where Ek could take the branch. If he was hungry, Tinem could help with that.

"That is good," Jamie replied, smiling as best a Hork-Bajir could. "I am happy to be your friend," she said to Ek. All of this eating of tree-bark was making Jamie hungry. She moved to a nearby tree, and started scraping it with her blades. As she did, she kept her Hork-Bajir head swiveled back, facing Tinem as he explained his voice. Then, she spoke in thought-speech, seeing as her mouth was occupied with satisfactorily munching tree-bark. <A human with morph-power,> she replied. <A female, actually, though my morph is male.>
She chewed the bark, and explained. <I was one of the Animorphs, but when we went on a mission to the Hork-Bajir planet. I was separated from the group, and they were unable to find me, and had to leave without me. I lived the rest of my days as a Hork-Bajir, eventually joining a rebellion. However, the rebellion was quelled by Visser Seven and an unknown assassin; I retreated to Father Deep, and there, the Ellimist greeted me, telling me Earth needed me; he returned my morph-power to me, and gave me my human self to morph to.
<Down there, I found an Arn in stasis, and figured out how to free him. Grateful, he helped me by teaching me, as well as creating creatures - monsters - for me to morph into. I repaid him by getting him to the safety of the Andalite Dome ship, StarSweeper. The Andalites then took me to Earth.
<So...I am curious. What exactly are you, Tinem?>

Ek just watched as they just seemed to stand there. Then Tinem handed him the tree branch. Ek smiled and accepted. "Thank friend," he said, smiling a weird smile before biting into the branch.

Tinem smiled softly as Ek thanked him and he nodded in response. He looked over at Jamee as she explained herself and nodded a little to her. He sighed a bit as she asked what he was. He took the board and wrote down what he was. He showed it to her. An Andalite/Abramanus hybrid. If you haven't heard of Abramanus, consider yourself lucky. He turned back to Ek, then wrote something down and showed it to Jamee, gesturing to Ek. He was asking if he could acquire Ek as a morph thinking his form may be useful at some point.

Jamie moved closer to Ek; he was so familiar in this unfamiliar, changed Earth. He munched his branch, while she chewed her bark. Their similarities, as well as their differences, were amazing.
"An Andalite/Abramanus hybrid. If you haven't heard of Abramanus, consider yourself lucky."
<Abramanus? Darn it, Tinem, you've made me curious...what is an Abramanus? Of course, if it's something you'd rather not talk about, I understand and I'm sorry for pressing...>
She looked to Ek, remembering his request. <Ek...do you know what morphing is?> Maybe she should acquire his form too, if he was willing to allow her to do so. She was curious, after all.
Curiosity killed the Hork-Bajir? It didn't quite have that ring to it.
